In a latest proceedings to the internal turmoil of PTA, Syed Nasrul Karim Ghaznavi (Member Finance) and Dr. Khawar Siddique Khokhar (Member Technical) were visited by 7 men who claimed to be from the FIA and who supposedly had orders to arrest them and take them to the Secretariat Police Station Islamabad. Two of the seven were in police uniforms while the rest five were in casual wear. They said that there were cases filed against MF and MT and they were required to be brought to the Police Station.
The seven men entered the respective offices of member finance and member technical, took their mobile phones, harassed them and tried to arrest them. Ghaznavi and Khokhar resisted and asked for proper authentication and warrants which they could not provide. In the heat of the affair, Syed Ghaznavi was grabbed from the arm and dragged to the door as well. Both Ghaznavi and Khokhar called the higher authorities via landline phones and within a few minutes the seven men got calls on their mobiles and vanished quickly.
It is to be noted that no outsiders of such kind are allowed to enter the PTA but managed to do so because of the aid of Sajjad Latif Khan. Sources inform that Khan was leading the action against the members and was the 8th person in their offices. Khan was previously made OSD but not barred from coming to office. Syed Ghaznavi and Dr. Khokhar are now filing FIR against this assault. The entire PTA staff has gathered around the offices of both members and are supporting to file FIR in the Secretariat Police Station
This action may be due to the grudge of Sajjad Latif Khan who was made OSD on their orders. It can also be a retaliation from the parties who are unhappy that both members stood in the way of 3G auctioning which would have been a multibillion dollar prospect. The fakeness of the men suggests that this could have been an attempt to abduct Member finance and technical.
Update 6.15 pm, 4th Feb 2013
Representatives of both the members have reached the Secretariat Police Station where it was confirmed that those men did not belong to FIA or any agency. There is a huge crowd of supporters of both the member present at the Police Station.
In reality those people were from FIA and they didn’t show their identification because they were not ordered to do so. It may be a warning for both the members who are not innocent by themselves. They are into many things which are also not on merit.
Nusrul Karim is allegedly a part of grey call business which is long going for years. Khawar and his wife who is also a govt officer at PM house are both withdrawing house rent while they both live together. How is it justifiable and according to law.
i think few neutral people should start the accountability across the board and punish anyone who is involved bad business.

Telecommunication sector has become Railway or PIA or just another corrupt department of government. what else we can expect in a PPP government.
This is just absurd…what is going on here in Pakistan. Is anyone safe here?? from suspending mobile services to picking the regulator..they are doing everything. and interesting thing is it is all happening right in the heart of Islamabad. Jeeyay Butto……..
