Mr. Usman Ishaq has left Zong after resigning from his post of Executive Director Commercial (EDC). January 31st was his last day at office as he was on a one month notice period.
During last 5 years, Usman Ishaq has worked with Zong on various portfolios. He joined the company as Director Sale & Distribution at a time when company was stuck at 7.2 million customers. Being Director S&D, it was his dedicated efforts that Zong moved on and reached to 15 million subscriber base in just few years time pushing back Warid Telecom to number 5 position.
Usman was elevated to Director Marketing and then later he was made Executive Director Commercial where he has left Zong with 19 million customers as well as boosting monthly revenue to Rs. 3 billion from mere Rs. 1 billion at the time he joined the company.
People close to Usman Ishaq have confirmed that he has offers from few local operators. But an engagement with foreign telecom operator cannot be ruled out.
Prior to Usman, Zong has already lost over half a dozen valuable professionals during last 2 years most of them are head of departments. Moreover, sources are indicating few big changes in the coming weeks at Zong.
