Mobile service is expected to be suspended for most part of the month of February in Karachi. The Interior Minister Rehman Malik conveyed it to the media that Karachi may hit by terrorists in the month of February. He urged the security agencies to invest more than 75% of their interests and resources towards Karachi as a number of reports suggest expected terrorist activities in Karachi.
Although he did not explicitly mention the suspension of mobile service but it has become a default action whenever and wherever national security matters are concerned.
Latest mobile service suspension was witnessed on 12th Rabi-Ul-Awwal. On December 28th, mobile service was suspended in Karachi without giving any reason causing mobile phones to remain silent from 11 AM to 6 PM.
India has also started to follow the footsteps of Pakistani Interior Ministry in closing down mobile services to cordon off security threats.
Mobile service suspension cripples the terrorists in their actions but there is no guarantee that they will not switch over to secondary communication means like short range radio wave communications etc.
Every time there is a terrorist activity rehman malik knows it much before it happens. How come he is unable to control that terrorism when he has a prior knowledge.
By shutting down the service he just makes the life miserable and i am pretty sure that he will keep suspending it until we go back to stone age.
