An American company SpareOne has introduced a mobile phone whose battery can remain charged up to 15 years if phone remains switched off. Talk time of phone is 10 hours and it comes with a torch. It is powered by AA battery which comes pre-installed.
Manufacturer says this phone is for making only the most urgent calls in emergency— so you can leave it in any protected part of your home for many years without fear of losing battery power and then use it whenever there is an emergency. The phone was launched in Las Vegas this week and its introduction price is $49.99. International launch of this phone will be made later this year.
In the emergency situation the SpareOne can automatically transmit its location via its mobile ID.

I think its an exaggeration from the company just the way LG started to do few months back that one of their models can survive 3 months on one single charge.
15 Years? i am afraid there will be no phones then, will be replaced by some other technology then this gadget will be just a piece of crap.
