There has been an immense demand from the evening students of Punjab who were of the view that they should be treated equally by the government of Punjab. Perhaps this hue and cry got the attention of CM Punjab, Mian Shahbaz Sharif who has just announced that the number of laptop which are scheduled to be imported in the coming weeks has been increased from 100,000 to 125,000 laptops. The reason he mentioned is that additional laptops will be distributed among the evening students who ever comes on merit.
Following is the official statement from Shahbaz Sharif;
“It is a moment of immense pleasure for me to announce that the total number of laptops to be distributed to our brilliant scholars has been increased from 100,000 to 125,000. Hopefully,we will be able to accommodate students studying in evening classes also. I congratulate our shining stars and wish them an equally brilliant career”.
The laptop scheme has been of much interests to all the students of Punjab province who meet the criteria. There are complaints from the students that their names are not being processed on merit and university administration is showing a biased attitude. A large number of students complained that their NIC were not being accepted online. Owing to the reservations, CM had extended the date of registration so majority of students could apply.

The reason is kick backs and ill-planned distribution activity without knowing in actual what the hell merit is all about………
why u don’t give laptop to evening students with morning, give solid reason.

Hi,
I have heard that the evening students are no more eligible for getting laptops. This is a straight contradiction from what Mr. Shahbaz Sharif has just said above. It should be abvious and clear that after receiving the message and a recorded call, we are eligible for getting laptop but it is of great despair that without any proper justification, we have been kicked out of the list.
